The Cottage - Sleeping 6
  

This cottage was once the forge workers' cottage, now completely refurbished but still keeping many of the original features. There are two double bedrooms, a twin bedroom, one bathroom, one shower room and two WCs.

Downstairs the open plan living area and well equipped kitchen look out onto the river barrage. Outside is a private riverside patio with garden furniture and barbecue under a pretty arbour giving essential shade in summer months. Wonderful views of the river and meadow beyond and every opportunity of observing the local bird population and wildlife.

LARGE SHARED POOL (7 x 14m) nearby with sun loungers in a lovely southfacing setting.

LAUNDRY ROOM - An independent laundry room, available to all three properties, is equipped with washing machine, clothes dryer, ironing facilities and a deep freeze.  Two cots and a high chair are also available.

BEDLINEN - Bed linen is included in the rental, but please bring your own towels.

BICYCLES AND BOAT  A number of bicycles are available (including 6 mountain bikes) for those who like to explore the local countryside.  A rowing boat is permanently moored for pottering about on the river.

WALKING/GOLF  Copies of the local map are available showing all the wonderful country walks around Forge Basse. An informal 6-hole pitching course has been created at Forge Basse for enthusiastic golfers.   An excellent 9-hole golf course is 25 minutes away.

TABLE TENNIS/BOULES/BADMINTON - all in the grounds

FISHING   The fishing season starts in March and finishes in September; a 2 week licence costing approximately 150ff is required, available locally. It is then possible to fish literally from the backdoor!
